I have never known anyone else who has made Gingerbears! My mom got me the Gingerbear Kit (pamphlet with the story and recipe’s, cookie cutter and child sized apron) when I was 10. We have made them every year since. We did change the raisins to chocolate chips for ours though. What started out as a single batch of cookies that first year with just my mom and I has grown into a whole Gingerbear cookie day with my mom, sisters and niece. After they are all cooled, we wrap each cookie individually and tie it with ribbon. We all give them to friends and neighbors. Last year we made 400 cookies.
